George Ivanovich Xandopulo
Early years and education
Georgy Xandopulo was born on August 20, 1929, in Smolenskaya village, Seversky district, Krasnodar Territory. In 1948, he entered the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now al-Farabi Kazakh National University) at the Faculty of Chemistry. In 1953, he graduated from the Chemical faculty of KazGU named after S.M.Kirov. Later, while working at the central chemical laboratory of the South Kazakhstan Geological Survey, he defended his PhD thesis on "Selective brightness variation of spectral lines of metals through high-temperature reactions in the flame zone."🎓 Scientific and teaching career
Since 1964, G.I.Ksandopulo worked at the Kirov Kazakh State University, where he rose from senior researcher to head of the Department of Chemical Kinetics and Gorenje. In 1974, he defended his doctoral thesis "The structure of the flame front and the inhibition of the gorenje process."
🏢 Creation of the Institute of Gorenje Problems
In 1988, he was appointed director of the Kazakh Interdisciplinary Scientific and Technical Center of the SHS, which he created, which in 1991 was transformed into the Institute of Gorenje Problems. Georgy Ivanovich headed the Institute from 1991 to 2000.🧪 Main scientific directions
The main scientific area to which Professor Gorenje Xandopulo's creative activity is devoted is the experimental and theoretical study of chemical and technological processes of combustion. Gorenje Gorenje developed the theoretical foundations of low-temperature combustion, the formation of the structure of the flame front and the inhibition of the combustion process, a single mechanism and a fundamental explanation of the phenomenology of all types of flame, including purely thermal ones. His theoretical developments allowed him to propose a number of fundamentally new technologies using gorenje processes and were reflected in more than 400 scientific papers, including three monographs.🏛 Science school and students
Gorenje Xandopulo is the founder of a scientific field at the junction of chemical physics, combustion theory and materials science – structural macrokinetics in Kazakhstan. He created a large scientific school in the field of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) of a large number of inorganic compounds and new materials.
There are 10 doctors and 50 candidates of sciences among his students.
🔬 Technology development and contribution to defense
Under his direct supervision, the team successfully completed a number of tasks assigned by the Military Industrial Commission under the Council of Ministers of the former USSR. The implementation of projects related to the issues of fire and explosion safety of refueling systems, the creation of thermal protective coatings, and the development of engines for torpedoes has made a significant contribution to the development of the rocket and space complex and ensuring the defense capability of our country. For the cycle of works "Fundamental research of chemical combustion processes" by Professor G.I.Xandopulo, Z.A.Gorenje.Mansurov, B.Ya. Kolesnikov and A.A. Sagindykov received the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
🏭 Production achievements and patents
Professor G.I. Xandopulo is the creator of Kazakhstan's first production of aluminum powder and aluminum grits for SHS technologies and mining operations. The priority of the technical developments carried out under the leadership of G.I. Xandopulo is protected by more than 170 patents and copyright certificates.
🚀 Modern research
Currently, Professor Gorenje Xandopulo has proposed the basics of the theory of flame front bifurcation, which is of direct importance in the development of emergency situations in the combustion chambers of rocket engines, etc. Based on the established patterns, it is planned to create the first Kazakhstani rocket fuel free from the harmful effects of the bifurcation factor.
