FIRST INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is hosting the 11th International Seminar on Flame Structure (September 22–25, 2026). The seminar is organized jointly with the Institute of Combustion Problems of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the V.V. Voevodsky Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the S.S. Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

To pre-register, participants must complete the attached registration form and send it to meruert82@mail.ru or meruert.nazhipkyzy@gmail.com. Abstracts must be sent to the same address no later than March 15, 2026.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES

The aim of the seminar is to bring together a representative international forum to discuss the current state, achievements, and prospects in the experimental and numerical study of laminar and turbulent flame structures, their propagation rates and limits, as well as nonlinear phenomena, and to explore the practical applications of fundamental research results in energy technologies. The seminar will feature invited lectures by leading scientists in the field of combustion processes.

REGISTRATION FEE

  • Participants: $300 per person (if paid by May 20, 2026) and $350 per person (if paid after May 20, 2026).
  • Students, Postgraduates, and PhD Candidates: $150 per person (if paid by May 20, 2026) and $200 per person (if paid after May 20, 2026).
  • Accompanying Persons: $200 per person (if paid by May 20, 2026) and $250 per person (if paid after May 20, 2026).

The registration fee includes a participant kit, seminar proceedings, coffee breaks, a welcome reception, and the banquet.

PUBLICATION

Abstracts submitted for the seminar will be published electronically in the Proceedings of the 11th International Seminar Conference on Science and Engineering (ISFS) and distributed to registered participants. Guidelines for preparing extended abstracts (at least 600 words) are available in the attached template.

Papers recommended by the Organizing Committee will be published in special issues of the Eurasian Journal of Chemical Engineering.

HISTORY OF THE SEMINAR

This seminar continues the tradition of the ten previous seminars on flame structure. It was preceded by the following events: All-Union Seminar on Gas Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 1983; All-Union Seminar on Gas Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 1986; 3rd International Seminar on Flame Structure, Almaty, 1989; 4th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 1992; 5th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 2005; 6th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Brussels, 2008; 7th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 2011; 8th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Berlin, 2014; 9th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 2017; and 10th International Seminar on Flame Structure, Novosibirsk, 2023.

VENUE OF THE SEMINAR

Almaty – is a city of republican significance in Kazakhstan and was the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 1997. It is the largest city in Kazakhstan by population, with over 2 million residents. The city has a modern international airport and two railway stations, making it an ideal location for an international conference.
